Letter, dated Oct. 15, 1871 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, from Lizzie, to her Uncle John Bell, of the town of North Greenbush, Rensselaer County, N.Y., describing the terrible fires which began Oct. 8, 1871 (the same night on which the Great Chicago Fire started), and raged throughout northeastern Wisconsin and upper Michigan, killing between 1200 and 2400 people.
